Fostering with Meows

What does fostering involve:

  • providing a safe and loving home for your foster cat until a forever home can be found.

  • taking care of their every day needs, feeding them, changing their litter tray, socialising them and keeping them healthy.

  • giving them any medication they need or additional care

  • taking them to vet appointments when necessary

  • providing us with feedback, pictures and information about your foster cat so we can match them with the perfect forever home

  • accommodating visits from potential adopters

What do I need to be a fosterer?

We want all our cats to have the best foster placement,  so we are very careful when choosing volunteers. to qualify as a fosterer for Meows you will need to:

  • Be able to give enough time to your foster cat, ideally working from home sometime during the week.

  • Own your home or have written permission from the landlord to foster cats

  • Be 18 years or older

  • Having a spare room is ideal but not a requirement, as long as you can keep the foster cat safely inside your home we are happy.

  • Have access to transport to take your foster cat to any appointments.

  • Make sure your own pets are fully vaccinated before applying to foster.

How to I apply to become a fosterer?
